Title sequence Men In Black - Ross

In men in black the title sequence is very well thought out, there are effective uses of marketing in order to approach the target audience. We are quickly introduced to one of the alien creatures and we follow this bug as it flies along the road. This is where the title sequence begins, first of all in a bug like stick font we are introduced to the movie title.

The moving image of the bug continues and we follow it as an almost third person along its journey as we are told different peices of information(mostly individual information) such as the executive director and so on. We are only introduced to the actual men in black after the title sequence so at this point we can still be sceptical. The music is played throughout and it is such of a sci-fi tone this fits in well with the thriller genre in the case of this movie as it is a hybrid formation. The institutional information is rather limited as I've now seen in a few movies I've researched they often give individual recognition at the beginning so in the title sequence and then group recognition such as the main institutions will follow at the end of the film.

The relationship between the moving image and the title sequence is actually quite strong, there is a strong correlation with the bug and the fonts and it all falls into place well. The sound is actually a combination of diagetic and non-diagetic the non-diagetic sound includes the music and all sound any characters or species in the movie would not hear. The diagetic sound is the buzzing of the bug, sound of trucks/vehicles.
