In the opening 2 minutes of the Bourne Ultimatum different aspects of a thriller film are portrayed.
The first scene shows Jason Bourne the protagonist limping down a subway towards a train station, and as the scene progresses he finds himself on the train before jumping off. There are a series of rapid cuts in this scene as in the time Bourne is bleeding out and seemingly struggling with his consciousness. The rapid cuts portray danger and a sense of urgency among the matter. The resistance force in this case being the police are frantically running around with no organisation. Moreover the camerawork used in unrestricted, use of multiple over the shoulder shots to show what is effectively a point of view shot, there are also close ups showing the wounds of which he has, The sound has crescendo's at climax's and decrescendos upon moments of suspense. Another way editing is used is through the transitions, there is cuts between his past, the camerawork of this time is all wavey, the sound is distorted and editing slows down each scene, as these are flashbacks the cuts are slow.
To conclude throughout the opening 2 minutes of the film the 4 elements are used effectively in order to portray the ideas they wanted. With the use of the flashbacks the director has to ensure Jason Bourne was still portrayed as the protagonist and that the movie was not interpreted.
